My staff and I applaud the accomplishments of the Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation. By having the vision to form their own energy company, Ute Energy, LLC, the Tribe is able to capture much more of the upstream value of their energy resources. Leveraging their energy resources, growing their own technical expertise and providing the capital needed for the business allows them to capture the maximum benefit to the Tribe. This is an effective model that many Tribes can follow."

Ute Energy in partnership with the Ute Indian Tribe Education Department will gather with industry in June for a charity golf event to raise funds to support Ute tribal students attending colleges and universities. Ute Energy would like to see the recipients of these scholarships upon graduation return to the community and to come to work for Ute Energy and the Ute Indian Tribe. This year’s golf event will be a team scramble contest and will be held at the Vernal Golf Course, Vernal, Utah. Each year the Ute Indian Tribe celebrates its Annual 4thof July Powwow and Ute Energy is a proud sponsor of this event. Ute Energy’s commitment to support the maintenance of tribal culture remains an important part of Ute Energy’s business relationship with the Tribe and internal corporate structure. All people are welcome to attend this event and to witness powwow dancing, drumming and exhibits and to meet visitors from many Tribes from throughout the U.S and Canada.
